ALICE’S ADVENTURE IN WONDERLAND

Book Design
5/21

This is a book design assignment for my typography class, in that studio we were asked to design a book with text and images.  I chose Alice's adventure in wonderland because it is one of my favorite books. When I did my research, I found some very interesting images drawn by famous artists for this book. Here I chose illustrations by Salvador Dali and Ralph Steadman. I chose Dali's art because his paintings give people an eccentric, dreamlike feeling, which from my

point of view, shares some kind of similarity with the feeling of Alice's story.  Moreover,  the rich, vivid colors Dali used to attract people’s eyes well and I choose Steadman because he uses more lines in his drawings but keeps the ink splash feature that helps his work merge with Dali's style well and suit inserting the middle of the story rather than be a disturbance.
